Who Is Your Mediator?

I find that it is very arrogant and egotistical for a man to try and place himself as the mediator between God and man. The bible says “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. When a person takes the scripture in 1 Corinthians 11:3 and says that the woman here is the church and that the man is the ministry is nothing more then false. Paul was showing divine order. Adam was created first and he was to be the head of his wife. This doesn’t mean to be a domineering male chauvinist ruler. Man is to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. As I have said before Jesus is not coming back for an adulterous church. If the man here in 1 Corinthians 11 is the ministry that would me the church was married to the ministry and would therefore be in adultery. The reason we preach against organization is because organization becomes the head of the church and not Christ. The same has and is happening in our fellowship. When a pastor makes statements that they are the head of the church, then that church and pastor are committing spiritual adultery. Control, power and authority are what drive this type thinking. Any man praying or prophesying with their head covered dishonors his own head. Everyone should have their own person relationship with Jesus Christ. Your pastor wasn’t hung on a cross nor did he resurrect from the dead for your sins. Your pastor didn’t save you and baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Your pastor should however teach you about Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. He should teach a person how they can be saved, receive the Holy Ghost, and lead them into being a fully matured Christian.

We have seen all too often pastors who elevate them selves into a position God never intended them to be in. A pastor is to lead and guide the people into living happier, healthier, holier lives. Like a shepherd leading sheep to greener pastures. A pastor should lead having the people’s best interest in my mind. Key word is lead they don’t need to drive the people. If a man is really following Christ people will know it and will follow.

I do believe in order and government in the church. We see that Paul ordained elders and the elders looked to Paul as their elder. I believe in showing honor and respect for men who gave up their own wants in life to answer a call to preach the gospel. I’m very thankful for these men. I do realize though the mistakes that have been made and are still being made by men who think to highly of them selves. Paul said in Romans 12 not to think to highly of your self. We are committing idolatry when we elevate ourselves or someone else into the place of the Holy Ghost. Jesus uses the Holy Spirit to speak and deal with us. For a minister to say that God will speak to him before He speaks to the saints is nothing less then idolatry. This is a self serving, arrogant, egotistical, self centered philosophy that God hates. You can not put God in a box. God will speak to and deal with anyone He wants at anytime He wants. He does not need the pastor’s permission first. I heard a man say this at a meeting one time “turn off your cell phones. It’s not God calling. If it were God calling He’d call me and tell me what to tell you”. One word describes this way of thinking…..ludicrous.

In closing read these verses from 1 Peter 5
“The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords overa God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
